Homemade Pickles in Mason Jars with Apple Cider Vinegar

Ridiculously easy and delicious. I have been curious about picking for some time now. When I went to the Italian market ad saw pickling spice, I was more than excited to use it. I found a good base recipe off of the Kitchn, and adapted it to my own tastes. Here is the original recipe: Small Batch Refrigerator Garlic Dill Pickles.

1 cup apple cider vinegar, I used Bagg’s Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

1 cup water

2 tablespoons picking seasoning (I picked this up from a local spice market in Philadelphia)

2 mason jars

4 cucumbers, sliced thinly in quarters

Boil water and add apple cider vinegar. In mason jars or glass jars add picking seasoning to each jar and arrange cucumber quarters evenly in the jars, and top with apple cider and water mixture. Let cool and refrigerate after for as long as you want to let the picking spices do their work. Feel free to follow the Kitchn’s recipe for spices if you can’t find pickling seasoning.

Happy pickling!
