Baked Masala Chickpeas

I love the spicy crunch of these! Spice not for you? I am posting a garlic italian kind of chickpea recipe too!


1 can of chickpeas, washed and drained, and toweled off well

2 teaspoons masala

2 teaspoons cumin

1 tablespoon olive oil



1 tsp cayenne


This recipe is about playing around with spices. This might be too spicy for some. I like to bake these, usually on Sundays because that is my meal and snack prep day. I take this in little baggies to work. Chickpeas are a great source of protein and these have such a satisfying flavor and crunch. Make chickpeas your friend though guys, because they are a great addition to salads and make for a great hummus.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray your nonstick baking sheet. In a separate bowl, mix spices with olive oil and use your hands to coat the chickpeas evenly. Spread the chickpeas on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, or less depending on your oven.
